Baking Rota

What is it?
As the name suggests, this is baking with the children.  It has run at various times in the small kitchen in the P2 area on various days, depending on timetabling.  There are usually two parents and one or two groups or four – six children depending on age, recipe etc.  Recipes themselves are usually fairly simple.  Depending on the group you either supervise or help.  The aim is to encourage the children to do as much as possible from weighing and measuring ingredients to washing the dishes afterwards.  The recipe and ingredients are supplied in the kitchen for you.

How often will I be involved?
Rota depends on the number of volunteers but is restricted by timetabling.

How long does it last?
The sessions vary depending on the age of the children up to a maximum of 2 hours.

Is a PVG assessment required?
Yes and one adult who is present requires to have a Food Hygiene certificate.
